About Richlands EMS/ Rescue Squad:
Richlands EMS/ Rescue Squad proudly protects 1500 people living in an area of 40 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status. We have a family like atmosphere consisting of Richlands and Jacksonville citizens. We serve a very tight nit community, but a very spread out district. We assist Onslow County EMS with First Response and BLS Transport. We are a BLS Squad Transitioning to ALS soon. We operate under the EMD dispatch system from The Onslow County Emergency Operations Center, which has enhanced 911. We have two ambulances( wheel coach), one QRV(Chevy Blazer), and one Crash Truck. Our Crash truck consists of Amkus tools, cribbing, compressers, SCBA , and various hand tools. Our Amkus tools consists of Cutters, Spreaders, and Rams. We average approx. 100 crash calls a year. We also carry an Amkus Combination tool with small generator on our QRV. We curently have 30 members, consisting of MR,EMT,and EMT-I's.
