About Ivesdale Fire Protection District:
Ivesdale Fire Protection District proudly protects 1800 people living in an area of 46 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a combination of paid and volunteer status. The Ivesdale Fire Department is located in Rural Champaign Co. in East Central Illinois. We cover 46 square miles of land in Champaign and Piatt Counties including the Village of Ivesdale. Our department has 1 paid professional on staff and 22 paid-on-call professionals. On May 1,2000, a full-time firefighter/paramedic was hired to provide weekday Fire/EMS coverage. We are very proud and fortunate to be able to provide this service. A special thanks goes out to the taxpayers who approved a tax hike to pay for this service, and to the Village of Ivesdale for their substantial financial support of this project. At the time, we provide Intermediate Life Support services, with the goal of providing Advanced Life Support in the future. We have teamed up with Sadorus Fire Protection District and are currrently dual paged and dual response on all emergencies in both of the districts. Together we also staff a rural unit for Carle Arrow Ambulance.
