We operate out of one station that protects a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department serving our neighbors since 1908. Our members are highly trained professionals who volunteer their services. The EMS division of Wood River Fire and Rescue was honored as Nebraska EMS Provider of the year in 1991 and 2002 at the state EMS Conference. Wood River Rescue has been providing Paramedic level emergency medical services to Western Hall County Since 1993. Wood River Rescue was the pioneer in the use of Automated External Defibrillators by Nebraska EMS providers.
