About Willow Volunteer Fire Department:
Willow VFD proudly protects 2000 people living in an area of 101 square miles. We operate out of 2 stations that protect a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a paid on call status. Houston Ambulance Service is a small service located approx 5 miles north of Big Lake Alaska. We respond to neighboring areas as needed. Our normal distance to the nearest hospital is about 32 miles with a driving time of about 30 to 45 mins, depending on traffic.
