About Royal Volunteer Fire Department:
Royal Volunteer Fire Department proudly protects 3300 people living in an area of 17 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status. We are a small rural dept. in Sumter County, FL. We respond to an average of 100 calls a year(60%medical, 40% fire). We operate out of one station and have 4 pieces of apparatus and a chiefs car. We currently have 18 firefighters. The Department was Established in 1987 under a community devolopement grant.
