About Alma Fire Department:
We operate out of one station that protects a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status. MISSION STATMENT The aim of the Alma Volunteer Fire Department is to (a) procure, maintain and operate vechicles and equipment suitable for firefighting and related emergency response requirements, and (b) to have all active members properly outfitted and trained to the highest practical level prepared to operate in a safe, efficient and coordinated manner following accepted emergency response procedures at all times. The Department is commited to :
* Respond to all emergency fire calls within its designated boundries. * Assist and support Natural Resources at forest fires as required
* Assist other fire departments as specified in the Pictou County Firefighters Mutual Aid Agreement.
* Provide assistance and fire suppression support to neighboring Rescue Units at motor vechicle accidents or other incidents within its area as specified in the Pictou County Mutual Aid Agreement.
