Waterford Rescue Squad Inc. proudly protects 11000 people living in an area of 5 square miles. We operate out of one station that protect a primarily resindential area. The Rescue Squad is National Incident Management System (NIMS) compliant. The Incident Command System (ICS) is a coordinated effort that brings together the major elements of an operation - specifically, command, operations, planning, and logistics under a unified command. The ICS is the backbone of Emergency Services response in the Town & Village of Waterford.Our department is a public department whose members are on a combination of paid and volunteer status.The Waterford Rescue Squad is made up of a combination paid daytime staff that are on duty from 6 A.M. untill 6 P.M.there after the volunteer staff takes over. We also have on from 6PM untill 6 AM, a paid Critical Care Technician or Paramedic.The Waterford Rescue Squad is commited in providing quality patient care & highly trained personal.We also provide backup EMS for the General Electric Silicones plant & mutual aid EMS to the Clifton Park / Halfmoon area as well as The town of Hoosick Valley in Rennsealear County. The Waterford Rescue Squad has been proudly been serving its community & surrounding communities since 1950.The Waterford Rescue Squad is now operating at the Critical Care / Paramedic (600) Advanced Life Support Level of care & continues to maintain a higher level of medical care to the residents,visitors & their family members in the town & village of Waterford.Waterford Rescue Squad works with the Northside Fire & Halfmoon fire companies who provide a EMS first response system. The Rescue Squad has recently implemented the new EZ IO Bone gun as well as a new anti-emetic medication called Zofran, under the guidence & direction of ALS coordinator Hanchett & the agency's medical director Dr. Colleen Kelly (MD 433).
