Wappingers Falls Fire Department proudly protects 5000 people living in an area of 1.5 square miles. We operate out of Two stations that protect a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status. The Wappingers Falls Fire Department is comprised of 2 stations, the W.T. Garner Eng. Co. # 1 orginized in 1869 and the S.W. Johnson Eng. Co. # 2 orginized in 1872. These two all volunteer fire companies provide fire protection for the Village of Wappingers Falls which was founded in 1871.
