About New Salem Volunteer Fire Department:
The New Salem Fire Department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status. We have an ISO rating of 9. Only one hydrant in the district meets insurance requirements, so we have a bit over eleven thousand gallons of water on wheels. We operate out of 2 stations, our primary station recently received an extensive expansion with engine bay upgrades allowing us to consolidate both firematic and social functions into one building at that location.
