About Vermilion Fire and Rescue:
Vermilion Fire and Rescue proudly protects 12000 people living in an area of 800 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status. We are a very active volunteer dept. of 25 members. We serve the town of Vermilion as well as the County of Vermilion River, a total population of 4500 in town and 7500 in county. We provide fire and rescue service. Being located on the YellowHead Highway keeps us busy with vehicle extrication. We are very involved in community fundraisers and local events. We participate in competitions such as FIREFIT COMBAT CHALLENGE , & C.A.R.S. VEHICLE EXTRICATION COMPETITION.
