We operate out of 2 stations that protect a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status. The department was formed Jan. 1, 1976. With the help of neighboring departments leasing equipment to us. In 1977 the department purchased it's first new pumper, which is still in service today. We now have two stations, our main station and a sub station located at the Porter County Airport. We have a professional volunteer staff of twenty eight fire fighters.
