About Grant County EMS:
Grant County EMS proudly protects 8000 people living in an area of 576 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a combination of paid and volunteer status. Grant County EMS is based out of Ulysses, Kansas, located in the southwest corner of the state . We are owned and operated by county government, licensed as a Type II (BLS) service with Type I (ALS) capability with paramedic staffing. We operate four ambulances, a rescue vehicle, and a supervisor's response vehicle. We respond to approximately 800 calls annually, providing coverage for the county-wide, enhanced 911 system and providing routine and critical care transfer services for local and area hospitals.
