About Tye Volunteer Fire Department:
Tye Volunteer Fire Department proudly protects 2500 people living in an area of 100 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status. The City of Tye is located on the western edge of Abilene, Tx., we are a small community of about 1200 people, besides providing fire protection for the community, we cover a sizeable part of north central Taylor county. We man 1 pumper, 2 tankers 3 brush trucks and 1 rescue truck. We are equiped with a Hurst Tool, and Air Bags, and we also run first responders.
