We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a combination of paid and volunteer status. Mission Township Fire has been serving citizens of Mission Township and Sherwood since 1977. We are a full service department that provides fire suppression, rescue, EMT/First Responder service, fire inspection, and fire education. We also currently have the only 24 hour on call dive team in Shawnee county, which service Shawnee and the surrounding counties with both rescue and recovery capabilities. We have mutual aide agreements with several surrounding Dept's for both fire suppression and dive calls. We staff 3 shifts with a minimum of two full time personnel each, so our station is manned 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Full time personnel are supplemented by volunteer personnel who respond to calls from their home or work. They are an invaluable asset to our department and it would not function without their time and dedication.
