About Almaville Volunteer Fire Department:
Almaville Volunteer Fire Department proudly serves 23,500 people living in an area of 70 square miles. We operate out of three stations that protect two mixed residential/rural/commercial areas. We are a public department whose members serve on a volunteer status. Members are not reimbursed for any out-of-pocket expenses.
Almaville Volunteer Fire Department was established in 1984 as a not-for-profit organization. We have an ISO rating of 7.
At this time, AVFD has 45 active firefighters, several probes and explorers, and 4 support members. In 2002, we responded to 452 emergency calls of various types.
AVFD responds to calls out of three stations. Station # 1 is a 5-bay station. Station # 2 (headquarters) is a 3-bay station with sleeping quarters, and our new station #3 has 2 bays.
