About Southside Fire/EMS:
Southside Fire/EMS proudly protects 120000 people living in an area of 220 square miles. We operate out of 12 stations that protect a primarily residential area. Our department is a private department whose members are on a combination of paid and volunteer status. Southside Fire/EMS is a private non-profit service owned and operated by the subscribers it protects and is governed by a board of directors elected at its annual meeting. The board of directors monitor the fire department for financial stability and overall effectiveness.
