About Santa Fe Fire & Rescue:
Santa Fe Fire & Rescue proudly protects 12500 people living in an area of 60 square miles. We operate out of 4 stations that protect a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status. Santa Fe Fire & Rescue is a volunteer fire department with parttime paid medics on Monday-Friday and a volunteer staff of medics on nights and weekends. The fire department is located Galveston County appox. 21 miles from Galveston and appox 30 miles from downtown Houston. Santa Fe Fire & Rescue was formed by the consolidation of Alta Loma VFD, Arcadia VFD, Algoa VFD, and Santa Fe EMS appox 4 years ago. We receive our funding through The Galveston County Emergency Service District # 1which was created by the vote of our tax payers 5 years ago.
