About Santa Fe County Fire Department:
Santa Fe County Fire Department proudly protects 60000 people living in an area of 2000 square miles. We operate out of 30 stations that protect a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a combination of paid and volunteer status. Santa Fe County Fire Department is an organization of 400 volunteers supported by a staff of paid career employees. There is a paid Fire Chief, EMS Chief,Fire Prevention and Training Chief, Operations Chief,1 Training Captain, 1 Captain Fire Prevention, 1 Inspector/Investigator, four administrative Staff, 6 firefighter EMT-Basics and 5 Firefigther-Paramedics. The Department is divided into fourteen districts answering 4,000 to 5,000 calls a year.
