About Running Springs Fire Department:
Running Springs Fire Department proudly protects 5000 people living in an area of 5 square miles. We operate out of 2 stations that protect a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a combination of paid and volunteer status. Combination paid and paid-call department located in the San Bernardino National Forest, at the 6200' elevation. Primary responsibility includes fire suppression, fire prevention, EMS response providing Advance Life Support with paramedic service. The department consists of a full time fire chief, full time batttalion chief,PCF Battalion Chief, three shifts with a combination of full time employees and PCF employees,that rotate on a three platoon system. We have three Full Time Captain, three Full Time Engineer positions and 26 PCF employees as well as billing clerk / Administrative Assistant.
