About Crawford County District 1 Fire Department:
Crawford County District 1 Fire Department proudly protects 12000 people living in an area of 120 square miles. We operate out of 3 stations that protect a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status. Crawford County District 1 Fire Department is more commonly known as BDR District 1 Fire Department which gets its name from the communities that it covers, Bond Special, Dean Springs and Rudy. We are staffed by all volunteer personnel. The department is funded by membership of the community, but will respond to all calls reguardless if they have a membership or not. The fire department also responds to medical calls as a courtesy to the community.
