About Iowa Colony Fire Department:
Iowa Colony Fire Department proudly protects 5000 people living in an area of 67 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status. Our Dept. is probably one of the smallest, if not the smallest department. We have a total of 2 trucks 1 of which is an 1986 Ford F350 which is used as a Field (grass) Truck. Our 2nd , truck which is the newest is a 1986 SeaGrave Cab-Over Pumper. Our most prized possession is our new radio system which is linked to the local sheriffs office to help us have faster tone-out and response time . We are currently working with neighboring departments to convert their radio systems over to the new one so that if assistance is needed for any one department they could be rapidly dispatched.
