About Rock Hill Fire and EMS:
Rock Hill FIRE & EMS proudly protects 5217 people living in an area of 1.50 square miles. We operate out of One stations that protect a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a paid status. We are a eleven member paid department situated in the middle of St. Louis County, Missouri. Our Mission Statement is Professionals Providing Professional Services. We broke tradition in 1996 by re-locating our Company Officer to the rear of the fire apparatus facing forward and moved the firefighter to ride where the Officer traditionally rode. This was done to give the Company Officer Time to Manage while enroute to an alarm. The firefighter assists the driver in manuvering through traffic, blowing the siren and air horn. We are extremely aggressive in the use of PPV during the fire attack. We believe in up-front ventilation of the fire building if possible, before our attack crews enter to reduce the risks to our firefighters and provide them a better environment in which to perform search and resuce/fire attack. We also strongly support Community Based Services to our citizens. Our City is completely Pre-Planned with all data being computerized and printouts available during the dispatch. We also have a laptop computer and printer in the fire apparatus and Staff car.
