Hillcrest Fire Department proudly protects 3000 people living in an area of 10 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a combination of paid and volunteer status. Station (1) One was the first Fire Department in Hoke County. Hillcrest was Est. in the 1900's by the First Chief Ed McNeill. Chief McNeill was not Only the first Fire Chief at Hillcrest but the first Fire Marshall for Hoke County in the 1900's as well. Hillcrest Still has one of its first fire trucks that served in the fire sevice for Hoke County, And in 1993 the first fire truck for the station was giving the name Granny,Granny is used for Parade's and other events in the Hoke County area,It is Also used as brush truck.
