We operate out of two stations that protect a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status. The Piedmont Fire Department was organized in 1950 after a huge wildfire sweep through the area. We still have the first original fire truck the department started with. A 1949 Willy's Jeep. In 2002 the department after years of planning built a new 5 bay station and a sub station to better serve the population growth that has exploded in our fire district.
