About Ontario Fire & Rescue:
Ontario Fire & Rescue proudly protects 18000 people living in an area of 82 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a combination of paid and volunteer status. The Ontario Fire & Rescue Department is 100 years old in 1999. We are located in eastern Oregon, on the border of Oregon and Idaho. The Ontario Fire & Rescue Departmment, contracts with the Ontario Rural Department and the State Fire Marshals Office to provide rural fire protection, and Haz-Mat services for south eastern Oregon.
