McLane Fire and Life Safety is a full-service Fire Department that provides fire protection, BLS-level EMS, and specialized rescue to our service area as well as on a mutual aid basis, including The Evergreen State College(TESC)and the Capitol State Forest. Personnel include an Assistant Chief, 3 career Lieutenants and 3 career Firefighters who work 24-hour shifts, 25 volunteer Firefighters and up to 35 Student Firefighters who are pursuing their Associates Degree in Fire Protection Technology in cooperation with this agency and South Puget Sound Community College in Olympia. The fire district is active in providing public education programs for children and adult citizens of the district with CPR and first-aid classes as well as Community Preparation classes to teach citizens how to be self-sufficient in the event of a long-term emergency.
