About Norwalk Fire Department:
Norwalk Fire Department proudly protects 23700 people living in an area of 50 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a paid status. Norwalk Fire is a full-time Department that serves the residents of the City of Norwalk and the surrounding two townships. We are ISO Class 4 rated with all members certified Haz-mat techs, EMT-Basics, and Confined Space. Along with fire and rescue qualifications and certifications, we offer a wide range of Public Service programs that include an extensive Fire Prevention Program in our school system. These programs include: Juvenile Fire Setters, Arson investigation, Fire Inspection, and training for Fire Brigades just to name a few. We are one of the few departments that utilize Thermal Imaging on every structure fire with the Cairns Iris Helmet System. We also utilize Class A and Class B foam.
