About Norwalk Iowa Fire Department:
Norwalk Fire Department proudly protects 10000 people living in an area of 63 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a combination of paid and volunteer status. Our department covers Northwestern Warren County and Northeastern Madison County Iowa, including the towns of Norwalk, Spring Hill, Cumming, and the unincorporated community of Orilla. We operate a conditional-paramedic level emergency medical service with two ambulances. Our EMS staff includes 6 paramedics, 1 EMT-I, and 9 EMT-B's. Our apparatus includes two engines (813 and 811), tender (815), heavy rescue (816), two brush units (817,819), a 100' ladder (814), two ambulances (243,244), and a command vehicle (823). We have 43 outstanding members. Besides fire and EMS, we do heavy rescue and cold water/ice rescue.
