About North Evans Volunteer Fire Company:
North Evans Vol Fire Co. proudly protects 8800 people living in an area of 52 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status. The North Evans Vol Fire Company was originally formed in 1927, starting with a handful of men and a new 1927 Sanford Buffalo pumper. Today we are celebrating our 70th aniversary of proud service to the North Evans Fire District. At present we have 46 active men and women in our 100% volunteer organization. We operate 2 custom Class A pumpers and a new Medium Duty Rescue/light unit. Our average calls for the year number about 80. We do not operate an ambulance, but do have a small and very active First Aid squad of 6. Our Company prides itself on quick response, up to date firefighting methods, training to NFPA and OSHA standards, being actively involved in community projects and programs, and maintaining a friendly family atmoshere. Our company owns and provides for the residents of North Evans the North Evans Firemen's Park, located at 7100 Versailles Rd, North Evans. We provide a picnic pavillion, playground, voleyball court, baseball diamond, horseshoe pits and picnic facilities. The park is free to use on a casual basis, and rentals are available for parties, weddings, family re-unions and corporate gatherings. Applications for membership are always welcome.
