About Northville Volunteer Fire Department:
Northville Volunteer Fire Dept. proudly protects 7500 people living in an area of 25 square miles. We operate out of one stations that protect a primarily residential area. Our department is a private department whose members are on a volunteer status. Northville Vol. Fire Dept. was founded in 1962 by a group of citizens who felt that response times from the existing dept. in the center of New Milford were too long.Currently we have 55 active members on our roster. Most of our members are state certified Firefighter 2 or above. We have two female firefighters and a junior firefighter program which takes members from 14 years of age and allows them to prepare to become regular members when they turn 18.Northville's members are very forward thinking and we are always striving to increase our education and our equipment to better serve our community.
