About Citizens Hose Fire Department and Ambulance:
Citizens Hose Volunteer Fire Dept and Ambulance proudly protects not a lot people living in an area of just a few square miles. We operate out of One stations that protect a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a combination of paid and volunteer status. Citizen's Hose Volunteer Fire Dept and Ambulance Service is located in the former Birdville School and is the primary ALS EMS and Rescue provider in Harrison Township. CHVFD works closely with Harrison Hills VFC #4, Hilltop Hose Fire Department, and Harrison Township Police to provide public safety coverage for Harrison Township. EMS responds mutual aid for Freeport EMS, Saxonburg Ambulance, and Eureka Community Ambulance. West Penn-Allegheny Valley Hospital is located in Harrison Township and calls on the department daily for ALS and BLS transfers within the area and to Pittsburgh Hospitals.
