About Londonderry Volunteers:
Londonderry Fire Company No. 1 proudly protects 5000 people living in an area of 28 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status. Our township is located in southern Dauphin county. We are mostly a Farm community. However we do have many unique responsabilities. We are first due to the Three Mile Island nuclear power plant, there are 2 major highways and 2 rail lines transversing our area, we are in the aproach area for the Harrisburg International Airport, the Township is bordered by a large river with many Islands and summer homes that can only be excessed by boat and we respond on many mutual aid calls to assist our surrounding communities which have everything from high rise buildings to large industrial complexes.
