About Meadowood Department and Training Center:
We operate out of One stations that protect a primarily rural area. Our department is a private department whose members are on a volunteer status. The Meadowood County Area Fire Department and Training Center was established in 1953 by Donald Holbrook. It was his belief that there was a need for increased levels of training for Fire Fighters in the area as well as an additional resource to provide specialized equipment and manpower to area departments when needed. Each year several Fire Schools are held to provide training to personell from departments in New Hampshire as well as the surrounding new england states. These Fire schools are also the primary means of providing financial support for the department. In 1995 the Connecticut River Valley Under Water Rescue Team joined with us and became known as the Meadowood Dive Team adding to the list of valuable services provided to our area. We are proud to cary on this tradition that Chief Holbrook established. Meadowood is a completely volunteer organization that takes pride in the service to the community that we provide.
