About McCollum / Midway Fire Department:
McCollum / Midway Fire Department proudly protects 400 homes five churches several small businesses and people living in an area of 20 square miles. We operate out of one stations that protect a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status. The McCollum / Midway Fire Department was organized on October 16, 1998. Our department was organized to provide fire protection and assistance to a community which did not have protection of any kind. We proudly serve our community and since our organization, we have pruchased four fire apparatus and a brush truck was donated by the State of Alabama. As a new department, we are currently ISO rated as 10, however, we have applied for our first official inspection and we expect that our rating will improve greatly. We have full community involvement and support. All department members are ready and willing to provide assistance to anyone in our coverage area and are ready to assist any department requesting mutual aid.
