About Manor Volunteer Fire Department:
Manor Fire Department / Travis County ESD #12 proudly protects approximately 10000 people living in an area of about 120 square miles. We operate out of Two stations that protect a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a combination of paid and volunteer status. Manor Fire Department, organized in 1890, has made great strides to modernize the emergency response system in the Manor area. Two engines, two brush trucks, one tanker & one command car make up our fleet of apparatus. We continuosly research what is needed to cover our response area. Currently, plans are being made to upgrade our fleet and prepare for future growth. Two paid personnel are on duty at Station One from 7:00am - 4:00pm during the week and one paid personnel is on duty from 8:00am - 5:00pm over the weekend. While volunteers make up the majority of responders in the Manor Fire Department, we are always accepting applications. Training is very important to our department. All new recruits undergo a 6 month cadet period in which they attend approximately 70 hours of training (on nights & weekends) before being promoted to firefighter. Nine personnel have successfully completed the ACC/Taylor Fire Academy and are certified as basic firefighters through the Texas Commission on Fire Protection. Manor Fire Department is proud of its members and the work they do to protect the lives & property of the citizens of the Manor area.
