About Community Vol Fire Department of MAhaffey:
Community Volunteer Fire Department of Mahaffey proudly protects 1850 people living in an area of 176 square miles. We operate out of One stations that protect a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status. The Fire Department has 5 units in operation. We cover a large part of southern Clearfield County. The areas of coverage include the townships of Bell, Burnside, Greenwood, Ferguson, Chest and theboroughs of Mahaffey, LaJose (Newburg) and New Washington. There are over 40 trained fire fighters and 4 first Responders and 7 EMT's in our fire department. We respond with our local ambulance service to accidents. We average 110 calls per year to fire, rescue, accident and public service calls.
