About Long Grove Volunteer Fire Department:
We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status. The Long Grove Fire Department was established in 1916 to serve the Town of Long Grove. In addition, surrounding farms were protected by the Department through subscription. In the 1960's, the support of the Department was changed to taxation based on assessed valuation. The Department was incorporated as a nonprofit corporation, and as a separate entity from the City of Long Grove in 1975. Since that time, the Department has been the sole contractor to the trustees of Benefited Fire District 4 and the City of Long Grove, which now includes Parkview. The mission of the Long Grove Fire Department is to provide the highest level of emergency service to all residents and visitors to the area we serve, within the scope of generally accepted fire department capabilities. These services may be fire, EMS, hazardous materials incidents, rescue and others with a trained and cohesive team.
