We operate out of 2 stations that protect a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status. Located in the heart of Texas (approx. 10 miles NE of Waco), Leroy Fire Department (est. 1954) provides fire suppression, rescue and Advanced Life Support (ALS) emergency medical services to the residents of Leroy, Axtell and the surrounding areas. The assigned 911 fire district includes some 150 square miles, with an additional rescue/EMS area of 50 square miles. The department prides itself on being one of the best all volunteer fire departments in central Texas.
