About Leon Fire Company #1:
Leon Fire Company #1 proudly protects 1350 people living in an area of 36 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status. Leon is a small comunity consisting of 74% Amish. We have about 50 members on the rolls and 8 EMTS. We have no industry in Leon and suport ourselves with comunity fund raisers.Leons fire company was founded in the late 1930s. We are a very close knit group of people who consider each other like family.
