Laurel Lake Fire & Rescue EMS Div. proudly protects 5000 people living in an area of 3 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status. Laurel Lake Fire & Rescue- EMS Div. was originally founded as the Buckshutem Ambulance Corp. in the 1970's as an all volunteer Department. The name was later changed to the current one in the the 1980's, but we have managed to keep our all volunteer membership. Our dept. is located in the quiet, residential section of Commercial Twp. where we service approximately 5,000 people with an initial response area of 3 sq. miles. Our mutual aid response area encompasses about 20 sq. miles of Commercial and Maurice River Twps.
