About Largo Fire Rescue:
Largo Fire Rescue proudly protects 123000 people living in an area of 22- square miles. We operate out of 6 stations that protect a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a paid status. Largo Fire Rescue was the second agency in the State of Florida to receive accreditation by the Commission on Fire Accreditation International. Largo is an advanced life support first responder agency with an average response time of 4.5 minutes per call. An advanced life support first responder agency is a unique agency where paramedics are transported to the scene of a medical emergency in fire trucks. Patient care is initiated by the fire medic and then the patient is transferred to an advanced life support ambulance contractor for transport to an emergency facility for evaluation and treatment.
