Carrabassett Valley Fire Department proudly protects 6-8000 seasonal people living in an area of 60 square miles. We operate out of 2 stations that protect a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a paid on call status. In 1948 The Chicopee Fire Dept. was Est. It is one of three stations in the town of Buxton.The Station burned to the ground in 1960 with the one truck the Dept. had.The members pulled together and built a new station and have been growing ever sence.
