About Kennewick Fire Department Explorers:
Kennewick Fire Department Explorers proudly protects 49000 people living in an area of 2,200 square miles. We operate out of 4 stations that protect a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status. We are a group of high schoolers that the Kennnewick Fire Department helps out with. We see what it is like to be a firefighter and learn the different skills that it takes to be a firefighter/EMT. Brian Cole is our main advisor for this program. Some of the things that we do in this program is learn to take hydrants, learn how to put on an air pack, plus other firefighting and EMT skills that could help us out in our future plans of being either firefighters or EMT's. This program is a branch off of the Boy Scouts of America.
