About LETCHER FIRE & RESCUE:
LETCHER FIRE & RESCUE proudly protects 13532 people living in an area of 170 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status. Letcher Fire & Rescue is a volunteer department located in Letcher County, Southeast Kentucky. We offer 24 hour a day, 7 days a week emergency crews on duty. We operate from our main station to cover our primary area, also, we staff a second EMS station located in Whitesburg, Kentucky 12 miles away. From these locations we can manage any emergency that might arise.
