About Pioneer Co.1 Station 860:
PIONEER CO.1 STATION 860 proudly protects 13000 people living in an area of 2 square miles. We operate out of one stations that protect a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status. The Pioneer Fire department operates 3 pumpers,and a special service truck. The Pioneer Fire Department is manned totally by volunteers. In 1999 we responded to 272 fire calls and were in service for over 158 hours, which is a new record for the Borough. In addition to the thousands of hours spent in training and drilling. Our volunteers leave jobs, their families and even their warm beds or air conditioned homes to help protect our community,regardless of the weather conditions or the time of day.
