About Jenkins Volunteer Fire-Rescue:
Jenkins Volunteer Fire-Rescue proudly protects 4000+ people living in an area of 20 square miles. We operate out of 2 stations that protect a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status. The Jenkins Fire Department is served by 25 active fire figters, 7 First Responders, 3 Emergency Medical Technicians, and 2 Level II Fire Sevice Instructors. The fire department was established ca.1912 by the Consolidated Coal Company and holds a very long and proud history of serving the citizens of Jenkins and the bordering communties. THe department currently operates out of two stations, manning three pumpers, two tankers, one 50' aerial and a first out medical/rescue unit. The department recently added an A.E.D. unit to the rescue unit and plans to add additional medical response-rescue equipment in the near future.
