We operate out of 14 stations that protect a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a combination of paid and volunteer status. The District is located just to the east of the City of San Diego with the southern boundries being the City of San Diego itself and approximately 50 miles of the Country of Mexico. The District is an all risk agency and works closely with the California Department of Forestry and the United States Forest Service.
