About Holland Fire Department:
Holland Fire Department proudly protects 750 people living in an area of 36 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status. 21 Volunteers,both men and women operating out of 1 station located in Holland,Iowa. we serve the city of Holland plus Colfax Township. our menbership includes 1st Responders,EMT-B and I, Nationally Certified FF1 and FF2,and Haz-Mat Operations level trained personnel. Age of our members varies from 17 to 75. Our 17 year old has 3 months service while our 75 year old has 47 years service. We also have an Automatic Response Agreement with the Wellsburg Fire Department sending both agencies to all calls in both districts. This Agreement has been very beneficial to both departments for daytime responses when manpower shortage can be a problem. Wellsburg provides BLS service which we also help staff. Both departments train together in fire suppression,search and rescue, and extrication.
