We operate out of 4 stations that protect a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status. Founded in 1960 we are located in the rolling hills of the Scaramento Mtns in the southern end of the Rocky Mtns. Elavation varies from 4800 ft to 8400 ft MSL. The recent ISO upgrade to a Class 6 was a good example of the FD and the communities working together to develop water storage and hydrants in a number of subdivisions.
