We operate out of 3 stations that protect a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status. The Lewis and Clark County Fire Department (which is a Branch of the L&C Sheriff's Office) operates 5 apparatus to defend the outskirts of Helena and all of Lewis and Clark County from the hazards of fire and also provide emergency medical service. We are a strong link in the long chain of excellent fire departments throughout the Helena Valley, by providing mutual aid to our friends in the area when needed.
